SABALA is a grassroots level women headed organization working for socio economic development of women since 2000 in viziangaram district. It has been working for enhancing the production of millets and for ensuring food security. The efforts of SABALA has yielded good results and the area under cultivation of millets has increased considerably. To build the capacities of these farmers SABALA has formed 35 millet farmer clubs with the support of NABARD. The continuous efforts of SABALA have resulted in transforming the villages into millet hubs. Once the production improved, the next step was to create the market for the utilization of surplus grain.
For that SABALA has promoted Arogya Millets FPO under companies act on 10/2/2016 by federating the 35 farmer clubs. As on today 1430 farmers have enrolled themselves as members of FPO. The FPO would be playing an important role aggregator of millets, primary processor and market the products under the Brand name “AROGYA Millets”.
SABALA works in 6 mandals of Vizianagram District (Kothavalasa, Vepada, Lkota, Jami, Skota and Gantyada, mandals Vizianagram Urban) of Andhra Pradesh & ASR District.

Methodology
Conducting regular monthly board meetings for assessing our policy matters Vs implementation, The CEO carry forward the day to day proceedings under the guidance of the BOD and advisory committee. Bank accounts will be operated by jointly Either President or Vice president along with CEO. The CEO will coordinate the above four subcommittees for more participation and real accountability and carry forward the all activities more transparent way. Yearly once we organised General body meetings for policy level discussions and discuss on yearly financial plans and future plan.
